Blackpool is a town in North West England on the country’s western coast along the Irish Sea. This borough is found 30 miles north of Liverpool, the home base of the Beatles. When a railway was placed in Blackpool in the 1840′s, tourism became the name of the game in this town. As the railway reached into northern England, residents of that section of the country headed into Blackpool, word spread to other parts of the globe, and the stream of tourists never stopped. One of the most essential hubs of tourism in all of England, Blackpool has possesses many things to do and sights to see.
Dancing enthusiasts flock to town each year for the Blackpool Dance Festival. This annual event is a competition in which ballroom dancers strut their stuff, and it received increased fame when it was featured in the film Shall We Dance? starring Jennifer Lopez. The Winter Gardens’ Empress Ballroom became the event’s home in 1920 and occurs every May. 1539 couples from 54 countries entered the competition recently, a huge number that attracted an equally large crowd. Visitors especially revel in the Professional Team Match and the Exhibition Competition. Blackpool also hosts the Junior Dance Festival.
The Winter Gardens itself is a complex that houses more than just the dance festival. Among its 12 component buildings is the Opera House Theatre, a 3000-seat hall and has seen shows such as Royal Variety Performance. It is also the home of the final new Wurlitzer organ installed in the United Kingdom. Also found in Winter Gardens is the Pavilion Theatre, a 600-seat venue, and Olympia. Olympia is an exhibition hall that has served as a funfair and as an indoor playground for children.
One of the most spectacular events in all of England occurs in Blackpool, known as Blackpool Illuminations. Along the sea front, lighted collages and other objects line up for seven miles. Between late August and early November, people from all over flock to the area to gaze at the dazzling array of lights. Over one million bulbs decorate buildings, towers, street cars, and almost any other object to which lights can be attached. The Big Switch On is the annual gala that kicks off the festivities and features a celebrity guest who pulls the switch to illuminate the colorful, 7-mile string of radiant scenery.
Blackpool has had plenty of practice entertaining people from all over the world and it shows. Dance competitions, plays, movies, and sightseeing activities all share a home in this town by the sea. Travelers couldn’t ask for a more eclectic getaway.

Blackpool is a nationally famous seaside town situated on the western coast of England. It first became popular as a tourist destination in the middle of the 18th Century when it became fashionable to travel to the coast to bathe in the sea as at the time, it was thought that doing so would improve wellbeing. However, it was not until the 1840s that the town began attracting tourists in large numbers after a railway was built connecting Blackpool to the industrialized areas of northern England.
As it stands now, Blackpool has a population of over 140,000 people and is the premiere seaside tourist destination in the UK, and also attracts many tourists from abroad. If you are planning a trip to Blackpool and you are not sure where to go and what to see, the following information should help you.
Known as England’s premiere outdoor attraction, Blackpool Pleasure Beach attracts over 7 million tourists on average every year and covers an area of around 40 acres. There are all sorts of attractions, rides and rollercoasters available to enjoy at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, including log flumes, boat rides, magician shows, cabaret, circus gymnastics performances and ice dancing performances. It is widely regarded as one of the best theme parks in England and simply should not be missed.
Blackpool Zoo and Dinosaur Safari is a very popular tourist attraction in Blackpool and is home to over 1,500 exotic animals. There is so much to see and do here it can be difficult fitting everything in to one day. With gorillas, lemurs, elephants, reptiles, birds and many other animals, it is the perfect place to take your family, especially if you have young children. There is even an area that holds over 30 life-sized dinosaur models for your children to enjoy.
A holiday to Blackpool would not be complete without a trip to the famous Blackpool Tower. The tower stretches just over 518 feet into the sky and was first built in 1894 to designs based on the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Along with the Tower, the complex includes a circus which is situated between the four legs of the tower, and a ballroom which makes up one of the adjoining buildings.
The Winter Gardens should certainly be on anyone’s list of places to visit in Blackpool possibly to watch a theatre performance or a sporting event in one of the 12 venues inside the huge complex. First built in 1878, the Winter Gardens entertainment complex contains a massive ballroom in which many famous music bands have played, along with 2 theatres, one being an opera theatre with a capacity of 2,920 people, and a number of arenas and exhibition halls.

Phuket – is the biggest island of Thailand and one of the most popular resorts in Southeast Asia, where a million of sightseers arrive. Its length is 48 km and a total area is 543 square kilometers. This is an independent province, and besides the most thriving in the country. The island is located in the southwest of Thailand in the Andaman Sea, 900 kilometers from Bangkok.
Well-being was due to the tin industry, but these days tourism brings the main profit. The northern edge of the island is separated from the continent only by a narrow sea channel through which the bridge Sarasin (700 meters) is thrown.
On arrival many tourists rush to the beach since those are the best beaches on the island stretched along the western coast. In the mean time, there are a number of historical and cultural places that may be an addition to a beach vocation: it is also worth visiting the hills of the island.
The island has a long history. During the centuries the groups of Malay pirates, Portuguese sailors and European traders landed to its shores. Some ones were attracted to the sea by war, others – by search for new places to colonize, third – with the desire to establish new trade links. The first European merchants called Phuket “Dzhanksilon”, and its current name is possibly derived from the Malay word Bukit, which means “hill”.
Because of roaring trade, the capital of the island has the streets with constructions in colonial style, in which elements of Chinese urban houses and Portuguese villas are organically combined.
The best season for the trip to Phuket – is from November to April. From May to late October monsoon brings southwesterly winds with the tropical rains that are quickly replaced by sunny weather. This period – is the best for fanciers of windsurfing, so: if you are not afraid of occasional rains and attracted with lower prices for services – Phuket is waiting for you in the summer. The average annual temperature ranges from +22 to +34 C.

When you are making your vacation plans, consider traveling to a region where the climate, landscapes and cultures are wide spread. Learning how to travel in Chile will give you a fabulous opportunity to explore this South American country and its beauty and versatility.
Because there is just so much to do and see, choosing to visit this area of the world can fulfill any vacation desires. This country boasts some of the most beautiful beaches to relax on. You can trek across barren deserts, interact with local villagers and learning their culture and ways of life. If you are looking for a more adventurous experience, exploring the many volcanic areas might be of interest to you.
The best way to arrive in the country is by air, into its capital of Santiago. There are a great many taxis just outside of the airport, whilst the subway too is very good. These are perhaps not the best ways to journey though. The bus service throughout the country is, many would say, exceptional.
The very up-to-date bus terminal in this modern metropolitan city is merely the beginning of what this city has to offer. Santiago boasts 5 star hotels with safe storage, small boutique and craft stores to giant shopping malls, and ample bars and restaurants.
Visitors often recommend use of the country’s public transport system to any destination in the country. It is very easy to ride by bus; choose a destination, purchase a ticket, and get on board. All of the bus services are good, though one of the best is the salon cama class; it features food and wine, and reclining seats.
Keep in mind that in some regions, the roads are difficult to pass so you may want to stick to the mode of transportation that will be most comfortable for you. Also to remember is that train service, while also great, and brings you to some incomparable locations, is limited. Whatever choices you decide on for the best way to travel in Chile, you can be guaranteed a safe, enjoyable experience.

There is no doubt that sharing a glass of wine with another person brings a feeling of good fellowship and warm feelings. Its smell brings visions of grape vineyards with the bright sun and the rich earth. Presenting someone with a bottle of this drink is even more impressive when it is contained in one of the excellent leather wine totes now on the market.
These totes are available in a wide variety of colors and styles. Each one is individually constructed to present a unique look while serving a practical purpose. They are manufactured with the utmost care to be sure they are the very best construction and durability.
When presenting a bottle or bottles of expensive wine, having it properly placed in a container that reflects its quality is only fitting. This type of a tote is available for one or two bottles which makes it very convenient when presenting it to a couple, especially if it is a wedding gift. There is the additional feature of a removable or adjustable separator, which makes it very convenient if the bottles are not the same size.
The adjustable or removable separator in the container makes it very easy to present two different size bottles of the drink if desired. Of course, there are totes for single bottles as well which makes it very convenient if carrying for personal use or to present as a gift to a friend or family member. Additional accessories such as glasses and/or a stainless steel corkscrew are also available. Their handy handles or shoulder strap makes the transport very easy as well.
This type of gift is excellent when wishing to convey the impression of superior taste, not only in the drink but in its container as well. It is said, “Elegance is in the eye of the beholder” and most certainly a gift such as this would not only shout ‘elegance’ but ‘sophistication’ and ‘style’ as well. Anyone would be thrilled at such a present.
However, these totes are not just for gifts for others, it can be a personal purchase as well. Having such a carrier to tote one’s own wine when traveling or for a day at the beach is an excellent choice. This is especially true if one is with people who are important in their life.
There is nothing like the shine of good leather to catch one’s attention. Leather wine totes achieve this distinction, not only in the outward appearance but in the overall construction as well. This very well made carrier fits in with any occasion where good drinks are enjoyed.

Statistics suggest that motorways are the safest roads to drive on. However, each year there are substantial numbers of deaths and injuries on our motorway network. Numbers of accidents may be less than with other types of road, but due to the high driving speeds, in the event of a collision, the chance of injury or death is inevitably heightened. There are several precautions that drivers can take to minimise the risk of accidents on the motorways.
Most importantly, all drivers must be fully aware of the Highway Code. It may be a few years since you passed your test, but there’s no excuse for not being fully clued up. There may have been several new editions of the code since you passed your test, so there may be some fundamental rules and regulations that you are unaware about. The most up to date version is easily accessible online.
One of the main causes for accidents on the roads is tiredness, particularly on motorways. Long, monotonous stretches of road can be uninspiring and it is easy for your concentration to slip. Monotony can lead to tiredness which dramatically reduces reaction speeds and you are generally less alert to the world around you. Travelling at high speeds, this can become very dangerous and leaves huge potential for an accident to happen. The law takes a dim view on driving whilst tired, and quite rightly so. Drivers involved in accidents due to tiredness can face criminal proceedings. Avoid tiredness by opening a window to allow cool air into your vehicle and try to keep your mind occupied. However, if you are tired before you begin your journey, take a rest until you feel more alert. If you begin to feel tired during a journey, stop regularly at service stations for exercise and refreshments.
Drivers should also be aware of weather conditions when considering the safety of their driving. Adverse weather conditions inevitably affect reaction speeds and the overall control of vehicles. Fog impairs visibility, therefore making it difficult to judge the movement of surrounding vehicles. Limited drainage on motorways can cause standing water during heavy rainfall, meaning vehicles are prone to aquaplaning where the driver loses control. High winds can also be dangerous, especially with taller vehicles that are at risk of being blown over.
Here we’ve mentioned just a few basic rules to help minimise the risk of accidents on motorways. Most importantly, you should stay alert, be aware of vehicles around you and allow enough space to react accordingly.

If you are in a large city, it is likely that you will ride in taxis that are distinctive to where you are. New York is known for its yellow cabs of course. A taxi in London, can be recognized by their famous black color. And you know when you are in Cairo by the tan Mercedes cars that are waiting to whisk you away.
It may be a smart idea to utilize these city based cars once you arrive at your destination. Being a stranger in a new city can be confusing, and not knowing which way you have to go, you will want someone whom you can trust. It may cost a bit more, but the options that are provided with the extra cost are worth it.
Firstly, they are private transportation of course. Whilst part of the fun of traveling is getting to know the culture, which is often done by getting on public transport, when first arriving it just saves a lot of hassle of loading luggage and going to other destinations before yours.
If you are fortunate enough to get a friendly driver, you may even end up with a very knowledgeable tour guide. You will get bonus points if you can converse with him or her in their native language. Not all will be open to showing you around, but you will be lucky if they will.
Having a local expert as a driver will give you the added benefit of a swift trip to where ever you are going. There is no likely instance of unexpected stopping along the way. They know the best routes to get you to your destination quickly.
If you want a perfect photo that represents the city you are in, then having pictures taken with these cabs are ideal. It only adds to the authenticity of the trip. These pictures make great souvenirs as well.
Some drivers, if asked, will be willing to snap a picture of you next to their cab. If you tip them well, and ask nicely, it is likely they will do anything. They might even agree to having their picture taken as well. It is a personal choice, though.
If you are readily identified as a tourist, you may run into people who want to take advantage of you. When looking for taxis at the airport, you should seek the advice of the tourist information desk there. They can direct you to the city cabs that will take you where you need to go safely.
