It is highly recommended that you take visitors insurance before you go to an unknown country. You may face many problems and since you do not know practically anything about the medical facilities provided, you can be in for a loss. It is much safer to have a visitor health insurance. Visitor and immigrant health insurance plans are very important because they cover your potential health risks. As life and situations are very unpredictable now a days, anything can happen that can be hazardous. In a new country, you are bound to feel afraid and then you might take some decisions that may be wrong. Also the experience of traveling into novelty is so great that you may unknowingly harm yourself. So in order to protect yourself and your finances, you must take visitor medical insurance to ensure that you wont have a problem with money in case of medical emergencies. There are many visitor and immigrant health insurance plans available at your disposal, so choose wisely.
You can avoid the situation of medical bankruptcy if you have proper insurance. In life threatening situations, the insurance companies prove to be helpful. People travel to other countries for business, tourism and education purposes. The period of their stay and their needs are different. Thus choosing the correct visitors, insurance becomes necessary. Various plans provide a range of different facilities. You have to choose from a wide array of appropriate visitor & immigrant health insurance plans.
Under visitor insurance, any loss, accident and injury is covered. Children below ten have free visitor health insurance. The time period selection is left to you. You have three choices of duration of visitor medical insurance or any other insurance according to the duration of your trip: three months, six months and one year. You can also extend the dates of the insurance coverage according to the norms of your visitor and immigrant health insurance plans.
A special insurance plan is available for those who tend to visit other countries for participating in sports. The visitors insurance is applicable up to the height of forty five hundred feet. If there is misplacing or loss of your luggage, then the insurance company can take care of the luggage as well as the carrier. You will feel relaxed as the insurance company pays 100% of medical expenses to the person who has taken the health insurance.
If there, occurs any kind of physical or mental disease, disorder or illness in the period before the insurance or during the visitor insurance then this should be reported to the insurance company. If during a trip there is a sudden death of any family member then the insurance company provides one-way air tickets since the later air tickets are of no use. The insurance companies also take care of residential facilities along with other aspects of visitor & immigrant health insurance plans.
The company may refuse to pay for certain medical procedures like hospitalization or such if the condition of the patient is pre-existing. Another thing that should be understood is that the visitor medical insurance money is paid in parts. If you have visitor and immigrant health insurance plans or any other insurance and you had to pay the hospital or any place, some money, then the insurance companies must deduct that amount from the total amount paid to the company. However, this will happen only if the company cannot pay money for the thing they should.

There are a number of good quality and functional infant travel beds on the market. You want to make sure that you get the one that best suits your needs and the needs of your baby. Read our tips for making sure that you get the baby travel bed that works best for you…
1. The lighter the better. Look for a bed that weighs less than 800 g. which is about two pounds. Whenever you are travelling with your child there is always lots of gear to take with you. Taking a lightweight travel bed with you helps to keep your total load as light as possible.
2. Bed that folds to a small size. When you are going with you child for an overnight stay with the grandparents, or maybe a more exotic vacation on a cruise ship or going overseas you’ll want a bed that is easy to carry. Look for a bed that is under 40 centimeters (12 inches) in diameter, and ideally look for a bed that has a carry case/bag making it even easier to carry.
3. Effortless set up and put away process. When you arrive at your destination you’ll want to be able to set up the bed quickly, and without complications. And when you are ready to put the bed away you want to be able to put it back into its carry pack easily as well. The bed that you purchase should be easily set up by one person – and it shouldn’t take any longer than ten seconds or so to do it. When you want to put it away one person should be able to do it, again in 10 seconds or so.
4. Easy access to the baby – being able to reach in to pick up your baby with ease should be a prime consideration when purchasing a portable bed. Look for beds with side panels that provide protection for baby and can be easily opened for quick access to the baby.
5. Comfortable for baby. The bed that you purchase should be constructed of mesh side walls/panels that will be strong enough to keep the baby safe in their bed, and they provide a natural cross-flow of air so that when your baby is napping they will be comfortable.
6. Detachable padded liner – you want your baby to be comfortable. Make sure that the bed that you purchase has a detachable padded liner. It will help the baby to be comfortable and being detachable also makes it easy to clean.
7. Product guarantee. Your travel bed should be useful for all of your babies. Make sure that the bed that you purchase has at least a 5 year warranty – there are some beds on the market that have a life time guarantee. The store or online site that you buy from is also important. If your purchase turns out to be not the right choice for you, make sure that their return policy will allow you to return the item without any hassles.

Of the many wonderful ancient buildings in Rome, the Pantheon is the one that has remained virtually intact over thousands of years. There is no other building the size, age or scope of the Pantheon that has kept the integrity of its original design so well. You cannot discount this amazing power of preservation to luck It is clearly a phenomenal feat of engineering.
The Pantheon holds up well in comparison to modern buildings for architectural innovation so much so that it has been copied often, but few have been able to match or surpass the brilliance of this ancient building. The fact that it stands to this day as a challenge to modern architects to live up to its design is only more amazing considering it was built around 125 AD, during the reign of the Roman emperor Hadrian.
The layout to combine a circular enclosure with a rectangular entrance is amazingly simple and yet brilliant. The entrance utilizes traditional Greek designs of thick granite columns organized in triangular configurations for maximum strength. These huge 39 foot Corinthian supports are organized with eight at the outer level of the portico followed by two sets of four that lead the visitor back into the rotunda of the hall. Thus the rectangular entrance design ties the portico to the rotunda.
This design seems amazingly simple but under scrutiny you find dozens of examples of pure genius.
In addition to that entrance design that huge concrete dome is an architectural marvel because if such a dome were to be used with any other design plan, the weight of the dome would have brought the building down long ago.
That dome is nothing short of massive. At 142 feet in diameter, the Pantheon dome is 46 feet larger than the dome over the White House. At the crown of the dome there is an opening known as the oculus that is 25 feet across. The fact that the dome does not compromise the building and continues to survive after 2000 year is in part due to the design of that oculus and the composition of the dome.
It’s easy to think that the opening in the center of that large oculus is just for artistic design. But it has an important job of reducing the weight of the dome. It is also perfectly balanced to distribute the stress of the dome’s weight around its circumference. This makes the dome as resistant to being crushed as a bicycle wheel that we are familiar with.
Another benefit of the oculus is that it lets in the natural sunlight to illuminate the beautifully designed interior of the building. The designers did anticipate that just as the sunlight comes in, so does the rain and the floor is balanced to permit run off of the water to side drains so a spring shower won’t create undue danger or problems for visitors.
The way the weight of dome tapers from base to peak is yet another demonstration of the genius of the designers. Starting at 20 feet of thickness at the base of the dome, the structure tapers down to a mere 7.5 feet at the oculus. In addition the materials used in the dome are heavier at the base and lighter near the top. This is again a simple but powerful design decision that has helped the Pantheon stand as long as it has. And that genius is even more amazing when you consider that the design genius of the Pantheon was ignored by future designers for 1000 years before later generations began to understand the brilliance of that design.
The result is a building so stable that 2000 years since it was first built, the stability of the structure is rock solid. But that stability was designed and constructed without any modern tools or devices we associate with building today.
Furthermore, the Pantheon engineering team had to bring off this brilliant plan without any sophisticated transpiration resources. That means that everything used in the creation of the building was floated in on the Tiber River and then slowly and laboriously moved by carts to the site using sheer muscle power of men and animals.
The huge bronze doors of the Pantheon have undergone a number of restorations over the years. But there has never been any serious structural repair needed or done to the Pantheon at any time in the history of the building. That record is even more amazing considering that the Pantheon was built on marsh land.
A good comparison in terms of amazing longevity of the Pantheon is the Leaning Tower of Pisa which seems to need virtually continuous effort to support and maintain that structure. Much of the reason for the troubles of that tower is the marshy ground under the construction. Another great building that was built at the same time as the Pantheon in Rome is the Parthenon in Greece and it is for all intents and purposes a wreck 2000 years after it was built.
In the eighth century, the Roman Pantheon was adapted to be used as a church. And unlike many ancient sites, the Pantheon was not set aside just to be admired, as it has been in continuous use from the day it opened until our modern time.
It is such a design marvel that the Pantheon has become a template for great engineering for numerous modern projects including the University of Virginia’s Thomas Jefferson Rotunda and the British Museum Reading Room.
If you have admired those wonderful buildings, it’s worth it to spend some time seeing the building that inspired them all.

Plan to holiday in Sydney, Australia? Well, indeed a good choice, but how do you get about once you land there? Hire a car of course! There are many ways in which a car can be hired out here. The easiest (but not necessarily cheapest) way is to ask your travel agent to do the needful. This would save you a lot of trouble but is perhaps not the best bargain. Your travel agent may have ‘tie ups’ with some Sydney car rental company which pays him a commission which means he makes money both ways, while you lose out on the better deals.
So what’s the solution? Well a smart approach would be to scour the Internet for good car rental offers and book your car online. Carefully peruse the terms and conditions of every car rental company. The rental services have user friendly online forms that need minimal details – your planned date of arrival, date of completion, as well as the delivery details and of course your basic personal information. And most car companies conveniently accept credit card payments. Some are more tech savvy and even take paypal payments or wire transfers.
So what are the fees to look out for when renting a car in Sydney? The base rate of rentals is in the range of $70 to $100 per day. Other standard fees charged by car rental companies in Sydney include toll pass fees $2.00 per day and Insurance Excess Reduction of $15.00 per day. Other fees may be applicable depending on your choices – additional driver fees at $3.00 per day, baby seat fee at $9.00 per day, Sat Nav GPS $35.00 flat fee as well as a fee of $10.00 per day for under age driver (under 25). As you can see, hiring a car in Sydney is not cheap but hunt for the better bargains by browsing through online ads to check out the discounts on offer. Discounts are invariably available only through direct online bookings and not through an agent.
While car companies may claim that the prices offered on the net are fully inclusive, it is in your best interests to examine the terms and conditions as most hidden costs are not immediately discernible. Fees such as Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) are a case in point. An international driving license is a must. The validity for using your international driving license in Sydney is three months. Always check that your personal travel insurance covers you for motor vehicle accidents and rental car insurance excess as it is more economical than paying the car rental company in the event of an accident.
If you wish to land a real bargain, try taking ‘off the beaten track’. Hound the Sydney centered blogs, Yahoo chat sessions and you will find plenty of folks who will rent out a car at rock bottom prices. Ensure, however, that you don’t fall prey to unscrupulous scammers; the possibility of being swindled or even falling for a stolen car is quite high. You may land up in deep trouble with the law enforcement agencies – you don’t want to be on the wrong side of the law! So take the tried and true path; research and pick the best car rental deal, the safe and effective way.

Rome’s world famous fountains are rich with history that is ancient and full of majesty and genius. There are fountains that date as far back as the first century when Rome ruled the world. But some of the most magnificent fountains date to the 18th century Renaissance period which filled Rome with wonderful outdoor art.
Many cities have fountains but their purpose is strictly ornamental or utilitarian. But Rome differs because any public water display had to also become a unique and treasured work of art in the Eternal city. In fact, not only does Rome “have” great art, the city itself “is” great art.
Throughout the world, the Trevi Fountain is perhaps the most famous and well known fountain in Rome, but it’s certainly not lacking for “competition” when it comes to magnificent Roman fountain artwork.
A great example of the great art in Rome is the Fountain of Triton, or the Fontana del Tritone. Like so many great fountains, it was designed by Bernini in 1642, and it is a classic example of what a Baroque fountain looks like. The main character of the fountain is a male mermaid, or a merman, who is relaxing on a massive clamshell while dolphins keep guard nearly.
Bernini is a dominant artistic influence in outdoor art in Rome, so you can find his first fountain near the Spanish Steps. It is called the Barcaccia and this early example of Baroque outdoor sculpture shows a half sunken ship with the fountain waters pouring out of the holes in the ship.
The sea creature theme that Bernini utilizes so well in his fountains continues in the Fountain of the Moor, otherwise known as Fontana del Moro. This is a great fountain to sit down and enjoy with a beverage as you explore the Piazza Navona. Here, we see the mighty god of the sea Neptune being attended to by four Tritons who spew water for the fountain as happy citizens of the sea playfully interact below.
Not far from the Fountain of the Moor is the Fountain of Neptune which uses many of the same themes but expresses them in an up to date style.
A fountain that is unique because it was designed not by Bernini but by Francesco Bizzaccheri, is the Fontana dei Tritoni, although the influence of Bernini is clear. You can find this delightful artwork between the Temple of Vesta and the Temple of Male Fortune. The sculpture that was made in 1715 shows two mighty Tritons as they stoop on a gathering of rocks and hold a basin. The fountain’s waters flow out of that basin.
Of these many examples, however, the Trevi Fountain or the Fontana di Trevi not only is the most well known Roman fountain but the best example of fountain art in the city. Like many classic Roman fountains, it was built in the first century. But Rome has carefully preserved it by restoring it between 1732 and 1751 under the direction of Pope Clement XII.
In addition to being one of the most beautiful fountains in Rome, it is clearly the largest as well, standing 85 feet high and 65 feet wide. The fountain is located at the back of the Palace of the Dukes of Poli. The sea creature theme continues with Neptune once again dominating the scene. This time the sea god rides a chariot made of clamshell and pulled by two fiery horses as Tritons are in attendance and the gods of Health and Wealth follow him on his mission.
The well known tradition and superstition of throwing coins into the fountain for luck was born at the Trevi Fountain. Be sure to throw your three coins in as legend tells us that this offering will cause Neptune to bless you with a return visit to Rome one day. Don’t worry about the coins as Rome wisely harvests them to benefit the charities of the city. It is amusing to note that the encouragement of this tradition not only adds to the culture of the city but amounts to pretty clever marketing as well.
The designer of the Trevi Fountain is said to be Nicola Salvi but it is clear to see the influence of Bernini in the style as well. An interesting fact is that the water that comes from the fountain originates at the Aqua Vergine aqueduct and that name is also the stuff of the legend. Tradition says that a virgin once offered water from these sources to thirsty Roman soldiers long ago in antiquity.
There is a lot to see in the many fountains of Rome so taking the time to admire them will make your visit to Rome complete.

Renting a car is never easy. The Internet is full of advertisements promising the best deal and they usually give a ‘base price’ in the range of $70 to $100 per day depending upon the size of the car. However, at most times the companies do not explain the hidden costs or even what constitutes the base price offered. Depending on which country the customer rents a car, the quantum of various fees varies. However, it is best to make informed choices when it comes to renting a car – keeping abreast of all the fees that make up your rental bill is the first step when you head out to your travel destination.
Most car rental companies demand a safety deposit the first time you rent a vehicle. This portion of the rental fee is fully refundable and may come to a couple of hundred dollars depending upon the size of the car. The car rental fee is next; this is the actual charge for renting the car. Most car rental companies also charge a ‘contract fee’ to cover the administrative costs of renting the car to the customer. If the customer requests for a delivery of the car and a place for collection of the returned car, the company may charge two separate fees, once for delivery and the other being the collection fee. Beware though! A collection point designated in a different state by the customer may attract anything up to a couple of thousand dollars as collection fees depending upon the distance of the collection point from the car company’s home office. If the delivery is requested at the airport, a separate ‘airport surcharge’ will also be applicable. In addition, if the delivery or the collection is requested after normal working hours, an ‘after hours fee’ may also be charged. Traditionally, car companies charge a state taxes fee should the client need to drive across states. Driving across international borders may even attract a cross border fee – this is a mandatory fee that may be substantial and not easily waived. Also if you have an additional driver, an additional driver fee can also be charged.
Some countries also charge a tourism fee for tourists who wish to rent a car. Most US cities charge a flat rate as toll tax, and this can range from $2 to $5 per day. Some car companies also charge fuel charge fee or extra mileage fee. This may depend on what scheme of car rental the customer has opted for. Some companies go by a set number of kilometers driven per day or set number of hours per day. Any excess kilometers or time is then charged as extra fee. In case the customer requires a baby seat or a ski rack then additional fees are required to be paid. In some countries being young, usually under the age of 25, attracts extra fees in the form of younger driver fees. Again look out for the hidden fees. With fancy names such as collision damage waiver (CDW) fees, you may pay hefty sums as much as $15 a day. This fee is not actually collision insurance but more as a guarantee that the rental company will pay for any damage to the rental car, along with a caveat of some ‘deductibles’.
Finally if you intend to return the car earlier than planned, don’t hope for a sizeable refund. Many companies actually penalize you for cutting the rental duration; an early return fee becomes admissible! It is therefore extremely important that you – a prospective customer – are attentive to the ads and the terms and conditions of hire before signing up for a car rental. If you take renting seriously, consulting your car insurance company or your credit card company before hiring a car would be a great idea. In the end, don’t fall for tall claims and false promises; choose your rental company prudently and have a worry-free vacation!

In Turkey, belly dancing is a standard form of entertainment. Usually you will find belly dancing in night clubs or other such places. But often belly dancers are hired to perform at weddings and parties.
Belly dancing is a traditional in Turkey. But more than that, it attracts tourists from around the world. To Turkish people the dance is an art form that is enjoyed by all age groups.
In Turkey, belly dancing goes by the name Gobek dans. It has progressed through the ages to what we presently see as belly dancing. Many believe that belly dancing can trace its origins to Greece while many others point to Egypt as the country of origin.
Belly Dancing In Night Clubs
Many women earn money by belly dancing in Turkey. It is in many ways similar to a strip club in America. The men will stuff money into the costumes of the dancers while they watch them perform their dance. At times men will perform belly dancing, many times hopping up on the stage and dancing along with the belly dancers. This is a common occurance at parties and festivals.
Belly Dancing Is Known Around The World
There are a variety of accessories available for belly dancing. There are costumes, videos, jewelry and music available from many sources on the Internet. This unique dance has become known around the world as its own dance style. This kind of dance is very different from other dance styles because it displays its history and heritage. Belly dancing has some very interesting connotations that involve both religion and eroticism. Many people have their own opinions about belly dancing. Some view it as a terrible form of art, while others absolutely love it.
The Music Of Belly Dance
The typical belly dancer in Turkey is usually a woman who is quite shapely. The muscles of her abdomen are extremely well trained and able to perform amazing feats. The typical Turkish belly dancing music consists of bells and clanging sounds. A rhythm is generally played in the background to accompany the belly dancer. The music follows along with the intricate hip movements. Generally this dance is performed bare footed.
The Movements of Belly Dance
The body’s rhythm is the main focus of the belly dance. The belly dancer performs a complex set of movements that give the illusion of flowing and sensuality. The torso is the main area of movement in belly dancing.
Sometimes props are used during belly dancing. In Turkey many times a woman will dance with snakes and swords. Other times the woman will use swords and veils. These are very popular folk dances. Typically these props are seen as mystical items. The snake for example has been associated with symbols of male and female and also immortality.
