Getting Around Tampa with Maps

by Salvador Paez

Tampa is one of Florida’s best and most popular tourist destinations. Not only is it the state’s largest city but it also houses a unique haven where both business and lifestyle can flourish. You can never run out of things to do when you’re in Tampa, that’s why whole families go there for their vacation. It’s truly a city like no other, with a high quality of living suited for anyone!

Tampa is large, but it is not impossible to navigate through even if you\’re a newcomer to the city. If you are afraid of getting lost in the city, then there is an easy solution to that: maps.

It’s not unusual for big cities to have several maps made for them, and Tampa is no exception. The city of Tampa is usually divided into six maps – Downtown Tampa, New Tampa, North, South, East, and West Tampa. Maps can be available specifically for a district, or for the whole city. Their level of detail varies with the specific purpose.

You can opt for maps that show you how the roads are connected to each other, or you can grab the maps that show you every restaurant, hotel, park, aquarium, and other tourist attractions marked on its pages. These maps are very useful for tourists who want to draw out their agenda for the duration of their vacation. However, vacationers who already know where to go will usually only need the road maps.

The maps that are being printed these days are usually simple to follow, with comprehensive legends and illustrations that are easy to understand and find on the map. Some tourist maps show the important places by marking them on the map – this is helpful for everyone, no matter who it is.

There are maps with lists of the best landmarks and others which have public transportation routes. Maps like these are either bought or downloadable.

Holidays to Cuba.

by Jose Mauricio Maurette

At this point you might have already decided that Cuba is the place that you want to visit for your next long hold destination but perhaps need some guidance on the actual booking process. This might seem a little bit trivial but it is without doubt not the case trying to arrange a holiday to Cuba .

The truth is that this Caribbean island is becoming ever more popular every year and this creates a problem for some travel organizers. Cuba is definitely not a last minute destination , in particular if you are travelling in the high season.

The busiest seasons in Cuba falls within the months of July and August, the Easter period, Christmas and New year’s eve . November, December, January, February and March are extremely well-liked months particularly for travellers from Europe looking for the Tropic to avoid few days of depressing weather.

Quite frequently I get clients requesting me to arrange a holiday for them in the above mentioned months , and every so often the phone call comes to close to the date of travel. I can not tell you how frustrating this situation is . For one simple thing , I can not shine recommending a package holiday for the fact that the most interesting resorts and best hotels are completely sold out , and then I am left with the only honest answer I can give. “I am truthfully sorry but at this point there is nothing available that I feel comfortable recommending ”

If you want to stay in big resorts then there is not much to be concerned about. The problem presents it self when customers are interested in combining areas like Havana, Viales Valley, Las Terrazas, Cienfuegos, Trinidad and or Santiago de Cuba. Areas like these with the exception of Havana are very limited when it comes to hotel availabilities.

If you are looking to arrange a tailor made holiday to Cuba in a high season my guidance to you is to start with the arrangements at least 4 months prior to departure in order to secure not only the rooms in your preferred hotels but also the best prices from the airlines . If you lamentably did not find this piece of writing before and are thinking about a multi centre holiday to Cuba, chances are something will be found for you but surely the odds of getting the best hotels are not bright

In the case of low season months is very easy to find availabilities and good deals in terms of price and it really does not matter much when you call. Even so we feel very confident to put together the kind of itinerary that will fulfil your holidays

I truly hope you have found this article a useful resource and wish you the very best when visiting Cuba .

Do all Countries Have the Same Legal Alcohol Limit?

by Amy Nutt

The legal alcohol limit when driving is based on the blood alcohol content of one’s blood. The blood alcohol content (BAC) is a measure of how much alcohol is in the blood. When it exceeds a certain percentage, then it is not deemed safe to drive. There are many different factors that conclude what one’s BAC is, so it can sometimes be confusing. But with such devices as breathalyzers that can be utilized on site when a person is pulled over, figuring it becomes considerably easier.

However, it is figured mathematically but is nowhere as near to accurate as the breathalyzers. If these details are known, the easiest way to figure BAC is by taking the amount of alcohol that was consumed and dividing that by the total amount of water in the body. Alcohol dehydrates the body, so if one takes into consideration that a 150 pound woman has 73.5 pounds of water in her body and uses that number to divide into the amount of alcohol consumed, one could successfully calculate their BAC and also figure out how much water their body is lacking due to alcohol consumption.

A BAC of .20% means a person is extremely intoxicated. In fact, they are so intoxicated that if they were drinking for the first time in their life, they would have never made it to a BAC of .20% because they would’ve passed out by .15%. A person this intoxicated is in a state in which they can, under no circumstances, operate a motor vehicle. Even at .01% a person may not pass all sobriety tests despite the fact that they look normal. However in various places around the world, the legal alcohol limit for driving varies. Some have absolutely no tolerance for it while others do to a certain extent. Sometimes the tolerance extends to just a couple of drinks to no more than the standard dose of cough syrup. That is why it is important to be vigilant about the legal alcohol limit in the area in which you are drinking, especially if you intend on driving. If you exceed the limit, then you probably need to get a cab.

The legal alcohol limit for driving throughout the world:

The standard BAC for the United States is .08% but can vary from state to state. Operators of busses and other such carriers are allowed a BAC of .01% and pilots are allowed a BAC of .04% within 8 hours of consuming alcohol.

United Kingdom: .08%

France: .05%

Germany: .05%

Australia: .05%

Canada has a standard BAC of .08%, but has a legal limit of .04% in Manitoba. However, drivers in Ontario with G1 and G2 licenses have a limit of zero.

Japan: .015%

Mexico: .08%

Norway: .02%

Russia: .02%

How much alcohol is left in a person’s system depends on how quickly they metabolize or excrete it. Two people who have had the same amount of alcohol may not display the same reading on a BAC test. Their size and weight as well as how fast their body processes it has a huge influence. So even if a person feels fine, they may not be fine. People have different tolerances, so it is good to always be safe rather than be sorry and risk arrest for being over the legal alcohol limit while operating a motor vehicle. Doing so can also be very hazardous, especially if you are in a rental truck or rental car. Many have been killed by others who have gone out to have a good time and not arranged a designated driver or took a cab. It is fair to say that legal alcohol limits are in place in order to keep people alive.

Beginners Guide To Boat Charter

by iBiza Joe

Vacations can becomes “times of your life” when you get aboard a boat. It can be a day to remember for ever if it goes well. You will need to follow some simple rules to avoid disaster. Here are a few basic tips to make your day trouble free.

If you have chartered a “bareboat” it means you do not have anyone to sail it for you. If you don’t have the minimum qualification yourself you will need to hire a skipper and ever crew. Check with you charter company who may be able to organise some salty sea dogs for you.

If you’ve opted for a power boat then you will need to take into account that the fuel is normally on top of the charter fee so if you’ve hired a gas guzzleing speed boat be aware.

Take plenty of sun lotion the power of the sun is deceiving at sea and it’s effects are not always noticed until you are back on dry land. The other side to that coin is that you can tan three times the speed at sea.

Make sure you take snorkel and goggles there’s nothing like diving in off a boat when it’s moored but you want to see underwater even if it’s just to know where the jelly fish are going to be.

When the weather is bad you will be required to wear a life jacket, especially if you can’t swim. It’s advisable for children to wear them all the times. Some boats will not be suitable for really young children. Always take the skippers advice and listen to his safety speech at the start of the journey.

Always tip the skipper or if you’re going ashore for lunch invite him along.

That’s all you need to know for now have fun and if it all goes well you should have a smashing day!

Getting The Best Use From Travel Sites

by James Redder

These days we all travel more on our yearly vacations, some more than others while the really adventurous like to travel as far away from where they live as they can. Whatever your travel interest is you will find a wealth of information online at numerous travel sites. It is now true that increasing numbers of people carry out all their travel arrangements using internet web sites. The main problem is the convenience of it all and the huge savings that can be found using the internet.

Although I am not one to put my complete trust in these sites and still like to visit my travel agent. While this may be the way to book your holiday now, I still enjoy sitting front of a real person and not a computer screen.

With a travel agent, I can change my mind about my plans several times, call and ask questions, and have someone to blame should my vacation not turn out to be what I was hoping for. It is difficult complaining to a travel site and almost impossible to actually speak to a real person, plus with today’s technology it is almost impossible to say where they are in the world.

If you do speak to someone, they may just tell you what you want to hear which is easy and what are the chances you will be able to find them? With a travel agent they are real and I can always go back to them and clarify points especially if something goes wrong.

A best friend of mine only books her vacations on travel sites and often she’ll book a last minute vacation that a travel site is offering which is one huge advantage of using a travel site. When last minute vacations come up, you can end up saving a lot of money and she’s gotten some wonderful vacations for almost half the cost.

I’m not one for last minute travel although I suppose I could be if my schedule was more flexible but my job requires me to ask for vacation months in advance. There are other discounts to be made as well if you are prepared to book your vacation through a travel site, like discounts on car hire, excursions and tickets for events for example.

Knowing a little about what you want and information about the location you want to travel too can be useful so I still research as much of this as I can online before I pay my travel agent a visit. It may not be fair on my travel agent but at least I know if something goes wrong, I will have someone to complain to on my return.

Utilizing A Safe Travel Guide For Your Travel Benefit

by James Redder

You can almost guarantee that if there is going to be a problem it will be when you are on vacation in an unfamiliar place but by following a few simple rules, the consequences can be minimized. Travel can be expensive enough as it is without expensive mistakes which could be avoided, resulting in a dislike for your chosen location and its people. Some people are affected so badly they will not leave the resort they are staying in which is not the way to spend a vacation. The most important weapon in your armory to travel safely is your common sense so don’t dismiss this invaluable ability if you want to enjoy your vacation.

Trust your instincts if something doesn’t feel right, do something about it. Always be careful about traveling with all your documents and money if you are just going to town to see the sights or have a meal. Consider just what you require for your trip out and take that, placing everything else that is of importance in your room or hotel safe.

A handy tip is to place a small amount of money in a number of locations like bags or pockets then if you happen to lose a bag, visa card or money, you will still have something there to keep you going until it can be resolved.

Many couples who have not adopted the travel safely ethos will have 2 credit cards, both accessing the same account; it is much easier to use two cards, each accessing separate accounts so if one is lost or stolen, there is a backup. A big thing now is bag and camera snatching from people strolling along, often in the road and unaware of the potential danger so make sure you wear the backpack on your back and sling your camera over your head and shoulder.

Don’t make it easy for them when you walk around by having bags and other valuable objects attached to straps next to the road where it is a simple matter for thieves on bikes to just grab at or cut the straps with a knife. The reason most people fall for these tricks is because we are more relaxed on vacation and the people that carry out these crimes are very good at it.

We can become complacent believing it will not happen or we are cleverer than them but this is how they make their living and in many cases the way that they feed their family every day. If you carry a bag of any kind, buy yourself a small padlock or combination lock as the few dollars you spend will be well worth it as it will deter the majority of sneak thieves. To prevent keys being lost or stolen try attaching them to a climber’s D-shackle that you can place on your belt or pack of some sort, this should help stop anyone trying to snatch them quickly from you.

A word of warning to those men that always have their wallet in a back pocket; try putting it somewhere else as this is the first place that criminals look and it is an easy target for them. The only reason these types of events happen on vacation is most people are not traveling safely so by maintaining your guard, many awkward situations can be avoidable.

Plan Ways To Identify Your Luggage Before The Trip

by Grace Jennings

In order to get the most enjoyment when you travel, consider planning ahead for ways to identify your luggage once you reach your destination. Keeping track of your bags at the airport, train station or at the cruise ship dock is an important component of a successful travel experience.

It can be hard to tell which luggage is yours on the airport baggage carousel – so many travelers have identical luggage! The most common size, style and colors of luggage account for almost all of the bags in the claim area. Just count how many identical black suitcases you see next time you are at the airport. I’m going to guess you give up counting quickly! Almost all bags are the same and thus hard to tell apart. Baggage is often mistakenly taken by the wrong traveler for this very reason.

If you’re looking for some new luggage, why not get something a little different this time? Unless you have your own custom designer, you may not be able to have a luggage set which is unique to you, but if you move away from the normal black or brown, it can go a long way towards helping you identify your luggage so you can find it quickly in the airport. If you are feeling a little more adventurous, you could opt for bright colors or eye catching patterns; while not for everyone, it certainly makes it easier to spot your belongings.

Prepare First To Avoid Losing Your Luggage

One way you can make your luggage stand out is to tie a ribbon or scarf which is brightly colored or features a distinctive pattern. This, of course can work against you if others on your flight had the same idea. Always double check your luggage tags, even if you think no one else could possibly have a neon green ribbon on their suitcase.

Another problem with ribbons or scarves is that they could become caught on something during the handling process. Not only can this slow down or damage the handling equipment, your luggage identification may become damaged or removed completely. If you still want to use this strategy, make sure you also include an actual tag listing all of your contact information.

You should also have your contact information inside all of your bags. Why? In the event that your bag is lost or mistaken for someone else’s bag, this can help you and your luggage be reunited. It’s also useful in the event all of your tags are somehow lost during handling.

A growing number of travelers have turned to personalized luggage tags as a way to keep better track of their belongings. You might be surprised at the variety of looks you can find and while possible, it’s not likely your fellow travelers will choose the exact same ones. Embroidered luggage tags in particular have gained popularity recently but there are many options from which to choose. Because really unique ways to identify your luggage are key to finding your bags quickly, try to go for the most unusual tag you can find.

California Zip Code Map Makes Touring Easy!

by Raul Braegan

With over 36 million residents and 155,000 square miles of land, California is the most populated state of our nation. It’s also one of the most talked about and tourist-heavy state as well. However, trying to vacation and sight-see some place as huge as Cali is no easy task – but you can make it easier with a California zip code map!

Of course, a California zip code map is BIG. After all, the state houses over 300 zips in 450 towns. Luckily, if you need a more detailed map, you can get zip code maps by the county as well. That’s useful if you’re only going to get to visit one small area of the state.

Traveling to a state as big as CA is tough, especially when you have to budget both time and money. And it’s not as though the area is cheap – unfortunately, California is one of the most expensive places to live and visit. It’s not surprising though, considering you can find anything to interest you while there, from its technology-focused Silicon Valley, to the star-studded streets of Hollywood to the breathtaking wine country of Napa Valley (most of which you can find easily on a zip code map of California).

By using a map you can plan your visit ahead of time and map out the various destinations before you even get there! By planning an itinerary you can save yourself time, stress and money, especially if you look for discounts for any activities you may be interested in ahead of time. Getting from place to place is also a concern when on vacation and with gas prices being so high, you’ll want to drive as little as possible. By mapping out your destinations on a California zip code map you can also make sure you’re using the shortest and most gas-efficient routes available to make your visits.

If you’re going to California, most people put Hollywood on their “must-see” list. And another favorite activity of course is celebrity stalking! Or, also known as, buying maps to stars’ homes and then trying to catch a glimpse of them! Then again, why pay an arm and a leg for a map of celebrity homes when you can use your California zip code map to make one of your own? All you have to do is a bit of research online, map it out and get to traveling!

Even when traveling on business, a California zip code map can make things easier. If you’re a salesperson having to go to several different meetings in one day, it’s important to budget your travel time wisely. By planning and mapping out the smartest route to take to all your destinations, you can save time and money. Your best bet is to purchase a zip code map online, since the free ones tend to be less detailed.

The higher resolution will allow you to manipulate and resize your California zip code map as needed. The best part about getting one online is that it’s available immediately for download AND you can print it out yourself as many times as necessary. No matter why you’re going to California, something as simple as a little map can make it that must more enjoyable for you!
